Common Questions

What is PRP?

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. It’s made from your own blood, which is drawn and then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets. These platelets are packed with growth factors and proteins that play a key role in tissue repair and regeneration. By concentrating them and injecting them into an injured area, PRP helps:

  • Stimulate the body’s natural healing response

  • Promote tissue repair and regeneration

  • Reduce inflammation and pain

  • Improve overall function

Why don't you accept insurance?

We choose a cash pay model to prioritize patient care over insurance requirements. This allows for:

  • Transparent pricing: You know the full cost upfront, with no hidden fees or surprise bills.

  • Faster access to care: No waiting for pre-authorizations or referrals.

  • Personalized treatment: Treatment decision are based solely on your needs, not the limits of your coverage. PRP, for example, is not covered by insurance.

Is PRP safe?

PRP is very safe as the only "active ingredients" are cells from your own body. That means almost no risk of allergic reaction or disease transmission. Risks are rare but may include:

  • Temporary soreness or inflammation at the injection site

  • Bruising

  • Very rarely, infection or tissue damage

Can you order imaging?

Yes, we can order imaging tests like X-rays or MRIs to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Can you refill my other medications?

Typically not - this is best left to your primary prescriber.

Can I still submit a claim to my insurer?

Yes - on request, we can provided you with a detailed receipt called a "superbill" that includes all necessary diagnostic and procedure codes. You may then self-submit this to your insurance provider.
